BMO Harris Bank notified some New Lenox customers that they are unable to pay their Will County Real Estate Property Taxes at Will County-based branches.  We would like to clarify any confusion.

BMO Harris Bank customers can pay their Will County Real Estate Property Taxes using several BMO Harris Bank services.

  • BMO Harris Bank customers may use BMO Harris Online Banking℠ anytime.
  • BMO Harris Bank customers may pay by an ACH withdrawal from their checking or savings account by using our Online Tax Payment service.
  • BMO Harris Bank customers may use their BMO Harris Credit Card or Debit Card to pay through our Online Tax Payment service.

You can mail your tax payment to Post Office Box 5000, Joliet, IL 60432.

Why Can’t I Pay in a BMO Harris Bank Branch?

Will County removed BMO Harris Bank because they cannot provide electronic updates to the Will County Real Estate computer system.  BMO Harris Bank presented a cost prohibited solution that would not allow taxpayers to confirm payment of their tax.

The decision was mutual between the County and BMO Harris Bank.

The decision to exclude BMO Harris Bank as a branch collector this year has nothing to do with the recent merger between BMO and Harris Bank.  It also has nothing to do with the financial health of either institution.  BMO Harris Bank remains a healthy financial institution as well as an approved County Depository.

We hope that BMO Harris Bank will collect for Will County in the future.  At this time, however, we are unable to pay for the solutions presented to us and made the difficult choice of excluding them this year.
